Happy Birthday Newtown Jets

The Newtown Rugby League Football Club celebrates its 102nd birthday.

The club�s foundation meeting was held at the Newtown Town Hall on the 8th January 1908 and the Bluebags / Jets played in the NSW Rugby League�s first grade competition from 1908 to 1983. Newtown won first grade premierships in 1910, 1933 and 1943 and produced 34 Australian Rugby League representatives.

 

The Newtown Jets now play in the NSW Cup, the flagship competition of the NSW Rugby League, along with other 1908 foundation clubs Balmain, North Sydney and Western Suburbs.
