Referees

Refereeing is a fun, exciting, non-contact way to be involved with Rugby League. Not only do you get to see all the action from the best position on the field but refereeing will keep you fit and meeting new and interesting people. Refereeing also allows you to watch and learn skills from other players whilst also getting a greater insight into the code.

Why you should consider becoming a referee:

  • Refereeing will help you stay fit.
  • You will meet new and interesting people and potentially make new friends for life.
  • You get the best viewpoint on any Rugby League game in the middle
  • You can learn skills and techniques by watching other players in action up close.
  • It allows you to be involved in Rugby League in a non-contact way.
  • Refereeing can become a full time career. Top referees earn up to $100,000 per year in the National Rugby League

All Rugby League associations nationwide are looking for new people to take up refereeing. From age 14 up you can get involved. To get involved simply click on the link below to find your local refereeing association.

If there isn’t a website for your local referees association, visit the state or national association website, and start making contact there. They will be more than willing to lead you in the right direction to becoming a referee.
